Rahul to contest from Rae Bareli
Guwahati: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will file his Lok Sabha elections’ nomination from Uttar Pradesh’s Rae Bareli, the family pocket borough vacated by his mother, Sonia Gandhi. Kishori Lal Sharma, Gandhi’s loyalist, will contest the polls from Amethi.

Guwahati: India has registered its protest with Beijing against China’s “illegal attempts” to “alter facts on the ground” in the Shaksgam valley of occupied Kashmir, which faces the Siachen glacier, the Ministry of External Affairs said on May 2.
Xenophobic
Guwahati: US President Joe Biden has called his country’s Quad allies, Japan and India, as “Xenophobic” countries that are unwelcoming to immigrants. He applied the definition to China and Russia while contrasting the American economy and polity with these four countries at an election fundraising speech on Wednesday.
EC direction to political parties
Guwahati: The Election Commission of Thursday asked political parties to immediately stop any activity that involved registering people for post-election beneficiary-oriented schemes through advertisement, surveys or mobile applications.
