Guwahati, May 3: Amid the ongoing action against drug peddlers in Assam, the Nagaon district police in Assam arrested a constable allegedly assisting drug dealers. Constable Mokram Hussain was arrested Thursday night by the Crime Branch of the Nagaon Police.
Hussain was assigned as a bodyguard to a Deputy Superintendent of Police in Nagaon. While serving as the officer’s bodyguard, Hussain allegedly tipped off drug dealers about impending police raids against them over the phone.
The police conducted an investigation and arrested Mokram Hussain. Interrogation of the arrested constable is ongoing to gather more details about his involvement in leaking sensitive information to drug traffickers.
