VISAKHAPATNAM: Chief Minister Y S Jagan said that Visakhapatnam, the city of destiny, will soon become the destiny of Andhra Pradesh and compete with cities like Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Chennai once he moves to the city with administration after the elections. Chief minister said that Visakhapatnam will script the future of the state by becoming its growth engine.YS Jagan Mohan Reddy interacted with the party social media workers here on Tuesday. “The IT sector is developing rapidly in the city, among others. If the Chief Minister functions out of Visakhapatnam, the city will directly compete with other metro cities,” said chief minister Jagan.
He noted that he is fighting with the opposition alliance headed by Chandrababu Naidu and a few biased regional media thanks to the immense trust of the people and his social media activists. He said that his social media has become the biggest strength for him in countering the false and poisonous campaign unleashed by Naidu. “I am privileged to have you-the social media warriors-on my side in my fight to protect the rights of the poor and underprivileged. I never felt that I am alone in my fight only because of the backing of the dedicated social media warriors,” said Jagan.
He said that a 30-year-old sister Geetanjali of Tenali was trolled badly by the opposition on social media for expressing her happiness to have received government schemes and eventually drove to take her life. “The rival camp had virtually taken a life of an innocent woman,” anguished chief minister. He promised the family of Geethanjali to extend the party’s fullest support.
A woman Samrajyam who worked as a security officer at the food court in Visakhapatnam airport when an attack took place on YS Jagan before the last elections, said that she left the job due to the torture of the TDP sympathizers in the food court after the attack. She noted that a false theft case was filed against her to prevent her from getting another job. “Even my family was harassed and we moved away from the city. I have decided to break my silence after yet another attack on you in Vijayawada recently,” said Samrajyam alias Suchithra.
Responding to Suchithra’s harassment story, the chief minister said that a system should be put in place to report social media harassment. He felt that an app should be created for social media workers so that if could report whenever they face trouble. He also asked the YSRCP media and social media coordinator Sajjala Bhargava to submit a weekly report on the party’s social media activists’ troubles. He assured that the party would protect each and every one of them. He also asked the social media workers to work towards winning all the assembly and Lok Sabha seats in the state.
