The Thailand Traveller Safety scheme, initiated on January 1 and set to continue until August 31, aims to instill confidence in foreign tourists about the country’s safety measures.
Under the new scheme, the government will cover medical expenses of up to 500,000 baht ($14,000) and provide compensation of up to one million baht in the unfortunate event of a tourist’s death. Tourism Minister Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol emphasized that the campaign is designed to reassure visitors that Thailand prioritizes their safety and well-being.
