SHILLONG, MAY 8: Construction of two flyovers in the state capital will soon start.
Informing this on Tuesday, Deputy Chief Minister in-charge PWD (Roads) Prestone Tynsong informed that the company, which is implementing package-1 of the Shillong-Dawki road project, has started the construction of the two flyovers in Shillong.
“The first flyover will be constructed from Umshyrpi bridge to Mahavira park and the second flyover will start from the location near the office of the Meghalaya Human Rights Commission (MHRC) and will go through the petrol pump at Anjalee,” he said.
He said had the government failed to get the land at Anjalee petrol pump, it would have been difficult to construct the flyover.
Tynsong informed that the government had given 10,000 – 11,000 sq ft of land to the owner of the Anjalee petrol pump at Upper Shillong.
