As the electoral fervor engulfs Navsari Parliamentary Constituency in Gujarat, the recent announcement by the Election Commission on March 16 has ignited anticipation for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. With polling day set for May 7, Navsari constituency braces itself for a high-stakes showdown between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Indian National Congress (INC), led by C.R.Patil and Naishadh Desai respectively.
In the electoral landscape of the Navsari parliamentary constituency, the years 2014 and 2019 delineate significant epochs, illuminating the democratic fervor and political transitions within the region.
In the 2019 parliamentary elections, the constituency witnessed active participation, with a total of 1,971,658 electors exercising their democratic franchise. This marked an increase from the 1,764,622 electors recorded in 2014, indicative of the growing engagement of citizens in shaping the political discourse of Navsari.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) maintained its dominance in both elections, with C R Patil emerging victorious once again in 2019. His victory was resounding, securing 972,739 votes and reaffirming the BJP’s resonance with the electorate.
In 2014, the BJP’s victory was epitomized by C R Patil, who garnered 820,831 votes. His Indian National Congress (INC) counterpart, Maksud Mirza, trailed behind, reflecting the BJP’s stronghold in the region.
Fast forward to 2019, C R Patil’s electoral triumph continued, with a notable victory margin of 689,668 votes. Patel Dharmeshbhai Bhimbhai from the INC stood second with 283,071 votes, indicating the enduring presence of both political parties in the electoral fray.
