Social media platforms are currently filled with glowing reviews and even notable figures from the film industry are expressing their admiration for the movie.
After 12th Fail actor Vikrant Massey dubbed it as his “favourite film of the year so far”, Made In Heaven actor Sobhita Dhulipala called the film incredible. Taking to her Instagram stories, Sobhita wrote, “Mind blown by ‘Manjummel Boys’! A sensory roller coaster, to put it subtly. Take a bow! @chidambaram W.O.W.”
Aranmanai 4 and Yodha actor Raashii Khanna also heaped praise on the film and noted on her Instagram stories, “Manjummel Boys is a gem! What an incredible film experience! Truly deserves the praise it’s getting! Kudos to the entire team! ❤️❤️”
In a video Disney+ Hotstar shared on its official handle, Vikrant had said, “You know what’s more thrilling than a survival thriller film? A survival thriller that’s based on a true story! Like everyone else, I’ve also watched ‘Manjummel Boys’. This film has reignited the ‘never give up’ attitude within me.”

At the same time, the film has also been receiving immense appreciation from all quarters, with many lauding it for its technical perfection. “How on earth did the director manage to pull off those camera placements, angles, and lighting in such a complicated set? It almost feels like they shot the entire cave episode in the real Devil’s Kitchen. Mad respect to the cinematographer and Director,” one user wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

“This movie is one of the best and deserves the appreciation and recognition it has received. Well made,” another user noted. “#ManjummelBoys, even without the ‘kanmani’ song, the movie would have had the same impact on an individual. Mallus are so generous that they didn’t cry foul while we took credit for their success,” a Twitterati wrote.
In his review of the film, The Indian Express’ Anandu Suresh wrote, “Chidambaram’s survival thriller, starring Soubin Shahir and Sreenath Bhasi, can indeed be seen as a powerful tribute to the real Manjummel Boys and their determined efforts to save their dear one.”
