After working together in films such as Thaamirabharani and Poojai, director Hari and actor Vishal teamed up for the action film Rathnam. The film, which released on April 26 saw mixed reviews.
Rathnam is an action film which also stars Priya Bhavani Shankar, Ramachandra Raju, Samuthirakani, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Yogi Babu, Murali Sharma and Hareesh Peradi in pivotal roles.
Rathnam Box Office Collection Day 10
On day 9 and 10, this action film has earned Rs 0.44 crore net. On May 5, the film had an occupancy of 18 percent in Tamil and 14 percent in Telugu. The worldwide collection stands at Rs 16 crore, while the domestic collection stands at Rs 13 crore net.
Rathnam Verdict By Times Now
A review by Times Now has said “The director keeps that reputation intact with Rathnam, a story that moves at a blistering pace. Devi Sri Prasad’s music is another plus and a couple of songs have high retention value. Rathnam is not a perfect commercial action entertainer.”
About Rathnam
The film Rathnam, was officially announced in the month of April, last year, 2023 under the tentative title Vishal 34, marking his 34th film as the lead actor. The official title was announced in December 2023.
Rathnam’s principal photography began in July 2023. It was shot in several schedules, with filming locations including Thoothukudi, Trichy, Karaikudi, Vellore, Tirupati, Chennai. The action film was wrapped by early 2024, in January.
The music has been composed by Devi Sri Prasad. This marked his sixth collaboration with director Hari after films such as Aaru (2005), Singam (2010), Venghai (2011), Singam II (2013) and Saamy Square (2018).
The cinematography and editing were worked on by M. Sukumar and T. S. Jay. The action sequences have been choreographed by Peter Hein, Kanal Kannan, Dhilip Subbarayan and Vicky.
