Tura, May 8: The Don Bosco College Higher Secondary Section, Tura on Wednesday felicitated Aditya Prasad for achieving the 3rd Position in the Commerce Stream of the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) Examination conducted by the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE).

Aditya Prasad is the only student from Garo Hills to secure a position in the Top 10 in this year’s HSSLC examination.

Prasad obtained impressive marks in four subjects, with the highest scores in mathematics (98), economics (92), business studies (96), and accountancy (97), totaling 458 marks. He plans to pursue a B.Com with CA course alongside his studies and attributes his success to consistent two-hour study sessions daily, with full focus and dedication.

Expressing gratitude, Prasad thanked his class teachers, tuition teachers, and parents for their unwavering support, emphasizing the significant role of his tuition teachers as his biggest supporters.

Fr. (Dr.) Jogesh B Sangma, Principal of Don Bosco College Higher Secondary Section, Tura, declared a half-day holiday for other students in celebration of Prasad’s achievement.

This year, the college witnessed improved results in both the science and commerce streams. In the science stream, the pass percentage increased to 98.33% compared to last year’s 96.15%. Similarly, the pass percentage in the commerce stream also rose to 91.5% from last year’s 82.6%.

In the science stream, the college saw 30 students receiving letter marks in Mathematics, a significant increase from the previous year’s 10 students.

12th Science Stream 2024:

Pass Percentage: 98.33%
1st Division: 70
2nd Division: 48

12th Commerce Stream 2024:
Total Appeared: 106
Total Passed: 97
Pass Percentage: 91.5%
1st Division: 36
2nd Division: 61.
