Tura, May 4: In view of the ongoing General Election to the Lok Sabha in the State of Assam, Deputy Commissioner of West Garo Hills Jagdish Chelani has announced dry days effective from 04:00 P.M on May 5th, 2024, until the conclusion of the poll on May 7th, 2024.
“This directive encompasses the closure of all liquor wine shops, canteens, home-made wine production, home deliveries, and bonded warehouses within the district,” an order from the DC said.
“This measure aims to ensure the smooth conduct of the election process and uphold public safety,” it said.
