Shillong, May 03: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma addressed several incidents that have occurred including surge in petrol bomb attacks in the city, emphasizing the government’s commitment to taking necessary steps based on evidence and facts. Sangma acknowledged the anticipated reactions to these actions but expressed that they were not unexpected. He reiterated the government’s awareness of the situation and its efforts to prevent future occurrences.

Sangma emphasized the importance of making arrests based on concrete evidence, rejecting any notions of police incompetence in handling the incidents. He highlighted the sporadic and disorganized nature of these events across different areas, making detection challenging.

The Chief Minister assured the public that the government is actively working to contain the situation and prevent future incidents. He stressed that actions would be taken promptly upon obtaining sufficient evidence, cautioning against premature conclusions or speculative actions by either the government or the police.

Furthermore, Sangma reiterated the government’s dedication to maintaining control over such incidents and ensuring they do not recur.
