NEW DELHI: Prime minister Narendra Modi took a jibe at the Congress calling out their ability to contest the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. Without directly naming Sonia Gandhi, the Prime Minister criticized the former Congress president for opting for the Rajya Sabha route to enter Parliament. “Those who cannot contest elections, cannot win elections have fled the field. This time, they have come to Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan. The condition of Congress is so bad,” he said said at an election rally in Jalore district, Rajasthan.
Further attacking the opposition the PM said, “the party which once had 400 MPs is today unable to contest elections on 300 seats. Today the condition of Congress is such that it is unable to find candidates. They have formed an opportunistic Indy Alliance, whose kite was cut before it could fly.”
The PM also accused the Congress of being responsible for their own downfall and said, “Congress ruled the country for 60 years. This same Congress made our mothers and sisters crave for small things like toilet, gas, electricity, water, bank account. This Congress hollowed out the country by spreading the termites of “parivaarwad” and corruption. The country is punishing them for these sins.”
The Prime Minister also highlighted the unwavering support of the people of Jalore-Sirohi for the BJP and their desire for another term of the ‘Modi government’. He said, “the relationship between BJP and Jalore Sirohi is very special. You have blessed BJP abundantly every time. This time too Jalore Sirohi is saying the same thing – Modi government once again.”
He also reassured all the people about their welfare by saying, “Take care of every mother, in the country… #ModiKiGuarantee because this son of yours is sitting in Delhi.”
Reiterating his resolution make India the world’s third largest economy, the PM said, “we have to make India the third largest economic power in the world. We have to make ‘Developed India-Developed Rajasthan’.”
