Guwahati, Feb 6: Guwahati is preparing to host the Fourth Edition of the Khelo India University Games (Ashtalakshmi 2023) from February 19th to 29th, 2024.

Athletes from universities across the country will participate in this major sporting event.

Over 5,000 participants and officials from 163 universities across the country will be participating in the event. The logo, theme song, mascot, and jerseys will be launched in Guwahati on February 8, 2024, by the Assam Chief Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, and Nisith Pramanik, Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports.

It can be noted that the Khelo India University Games (Ashtalakshmi 2023) will feature a big line-up of sporting disciplines, including athletics, rugby, basketball, volleyball, swimming, badminton, hockey, fencing, Kabaddi, football, tennis, mallakhamb, judo, table tennis, boxing, shooting, weightlifting, archery, wrestling, and yoga.
